Governance
The Union Christian College , Aluva established in 1921,
is a Minority Status Institution managed by Union Christian College Association
whose members belong to four co-operating churches namely Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church,
The Church of South India, The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, The Malankara Jacobite Syrian
Church and The Inter Church Fellowship (consisting of the members from the teaching staff, belonging
to the four cooperating churches).
The business of the College is managed by the Board of Directors
consisting of the Manager (ex officio), the Principal (ex officio), the Bursar(ex officio)
and six other members from the Association.Besides the Board of Directors the following
bodies regulate the affairs of the College
i) The Standing Council
ii) The Executive Committee
iii) The Governing Body
The Standing Council consisting of twenty seven members is a Committee
of the Union Christian College Association, consisting of all the members of the Association.
The Standing Council is required to make all the required bye-laws necessary for the management
of the affairs of the Association.
Sixteen members of the Standing Council are drawn from eminent educationalists, industrialists, scientists, judges, advocates, doctors and spiritual leaders.
Eight members of the Standing Council represent the teaching staff.
The Manager, Principal and the Bursar are ex officio members.
